I have been reading Marketing ProfsMarketing Sherpa and IIMA articles this week and would like to share some interesting points.

Lessons Learned about Linkedin (from Marketing Profs):

  • Linkedin can help grow thought leadership
  • Use regular tips or newsletter to remind your community of who you are
  • Interact and recognize others and not just promote

Gartner predictions for 2010 – digital marketing (also from Marketing Profs):

  • By the end of 2011 more than 90% of Fortune 1000 marketing campaigns will include online marketing, up from 50% in 2009. This will result in 10-20% savings in marketing communications.

Measuring social media (from Marketing Sherpa):

  • Visitors and sources of traffic
  • Network size – followers, fans, members
  • Quantity of commentary about your brand or product
  • Sentiment or quality of commentary
  • Search engine ranking
  • Leads generated
